Despite still being the less popular choice for home consoles, Xbox is arguably in the best place it’s ever been in thanks to some enormous wins and big plans for the future.
After putting its acquisition of Bethesda to good use with the release of Starfield, as well as adding Activision Blizzard to its party through another acquisition, the company could potentially exceed its competitor PlayStation in the years to come.

Another thing Xbox has been doing right recently is its subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, which has seemingly done nothing but impress fans with its offering. This is a stark contrast to PlayStation Plus, which has taken fire from its fans basically every month for new additions to the service, as well as an increase to the overall price.

Recently there’s been speculation that Xbox could captilise on its subscription service supremacy by bringing Xbox Game Pass to other platforms, like the PlayStation 4/5 and Nintendo Switch, though these rumours have seen been squashed by the head of Xbox themselves, Phil Spencer.
Speaking in an interview with WindowsCentral, Spencer squashed the rumours and said "we have no plans to bring Game Pass to PlayStation or Nintendo. It's not in our plans.”
That being said, there are still plans to continue innovating the service as time goes on, meaning Xbox and PC subscribers will want to stick around for what’s yet to come.
Spencer said: “Game Pass was one of the things you know that over the last five years we built, and we continue to grow, it's on PC, it's on cloud. It's an important part of the Xbox console identity. And I think it will continue to be that. And we will continue to look at future ways for us to innovate across our game portfolio and our platform."
