Could Black Friday be about to make our dreams come true? Well, not specifically mine because I already forked out money for both consoles. However, those who’ve yet to take the plunge and get a new Xbox and/or PlayStation 5, might be able to relish a massive price drop to soften the financial blow.
We’re not bothered where you draw your line in the sand because, currently, both brands are suffering from disgruntled fans, either over lacklustre freebies or AI partnerships. It’s a rough time all around, and while a big sale isn’t going to rectify the “mistakes” either brand has made, it will help gamers forget just how annoyed they are. Maybe. We’re a tough bunch to please.

The rumoured major price drop is just that: a rumour. Few, if any, brands have revealed just how hard they’re hitting those Black Friday deals, and with the chaotic shopping day still a couple of weeks away, we might not get the sweet deals we’ve been hoping for.

That being said, according to an industry analyst, these deals are poised to happen, with Xbox pitting PlayStation to the post in terms of value for money. Twitter user @MauroNL3 posted, “Microsoft will offer an Xbox Series X 'soft' bundle with a copy of COD Modern Warfare III at €489 in Europe. That's about €130 below RRP. Likely a Black Friday offer. Sony will introduce the PS5 (Non-slim) MWIII bundle in EU starting this week at €619 RRP (non-BF price).”
I’m not saying the money off isn’t enticing, but I doubt I’m alone in saying Modern Warfare III holds little appeal, especially with fans so furious about its incredibly short campaign. With so much disappointment attached to the game, it could be that no amount of price cuts will interest would-be shoppers to whip out their debit cards.
Of course, until any form of official announcement about such deals comes from Microsoft or Sony, this is speculation that could potentially lead to nothing. Still, it might be worth having your money at the ready, just in case.
