PlayStation 5 availability has just seen a huge boost

PlayStation 5 availability has just seen a huge boost

May the odds be ever in your favour.

According to recent financial data, Sony ramped up imports for the PlayStation 5 into the United States in September, meaning that it's going to get a lot easier to grab the console and just in time for the launch of God of War Ragnarök.

David Gibson, a senior analyst at MST Financial, showed off the figures in a Tweet of the graph charting imports to the US in kilograms against the months of the year between June 2021 and September 2022. Expectedly, the peaks occur in August 2021 and November 2021, however, there's a clear surge in imports in the summer of this year. September saw a 400% increase in shipment volumes so there's bound to be a lot of stock across different retailers and people shouldn't be missing out as often as in the past.

This is also theorised to be a part of Sony's strategy to prime God of War Ragnarök for its best possible launch in November. While details about the plotline are thin on the ground, we do know that it will be about 40 hours long and that the events are going to take a darker turn.

"The mystery of Loki’s role in the upcoming conflict is something that Atreus cannot let go of. He wants to keep his family safe, but Atreus also doesn’t want to stand by and do nothing while conflict consumes the Nine Realms," explained Grace Orlady, lead community manager at Santa Monica Studio, in a post to the PlayStation Blog. Although the father and son have come a long way, both emotionally and spiritually, their personalities and experiences will clash once more.
