New PlayStation 5 Update Just Introduced A Seriously Handy New Feature

New PlayStation 5 Update Just Introduced A Seriously Handy New Feature

It's about time

PlayStation appears to be in the process of rolling out a very handy new feature for PlayStation 5 users who want to be able to share their screenshots and videos more easily.

As reported by VGC, several PlayStation 5 owners have taken to social media to reveal that they're now able to automatically upload captured content to the PlayStation mobile app.

Typically, players who want to share any cool screenshots or gameplay clips can only do so via their console. But according to multiple reports on Reddit and Twitter, players are finally able to allow their console to auto upload to the PlayStation app, giving them to option to view their content on the go.

The new feature, which seems to mostly be available to players in North America at the time of writing, can be accessed via the Media Gallery on their PS5. From there, a message will appear informing them of their shiny new ability.

The pop-up reads: “Automatically upload your latest screenshots and video clips, and view them on PlayStation App.”

Any footage under the three-minute mark will be uploaded to the PS app straight away, and will remain there for 14 days.

While this obviously isn't the biggest new feature and won't immediately appeal to everyone, it's a very welcome update that has big implications for players who want to be able to more easily edit and play around with their capture via the software of their choice. Brace yourselves for a flood of Horizon Forbidden West TikToks in the next few months.
