Briana White, the actress who plays Aerith in Final Fantasy VII Remake, cosplayed as her character, and the photos are utterly uncanny.

With the dress and ribbon provided by cosplay specialist Lady Zero, and her makeup by helloiamkate, White is the spitting image of Aerith. White was "beyond excited" to share the photos, and the beautiful background and soft lighting captures the character's wonder and charisma.

A professional actress as well as a digital content creator, White has credits on the silver screen and the small screen, like her roles in Occupants and Criminal Minds. She also streams to her own Twitch channel, TheStrangeRebel, and she's played games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part 2, Torchlight 3, Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!, and of course, Final Fantasy VII Remake. Her role as Aerith was her first foray into performances for video games, and she approached the opportunity with admirable enthusiasm.

"I went in with no experience in voiceover, but a lot of hours playing video games. When I went in and did the battle grunts - because they wanted to make sure I could do the 'Ugh!', 'Ahh!", the hits and the hurts and all the stuff like that - I knew exactly how those have sounded since I've played so many video games. I nailed those right off the bat," said White in an interview from April. However, it may surprise people to know that she hadn't played the original before she secured the role.

"I could've spent the next 70 hours playing the original game. But there's no voice acting in the original game and a lot of Aerith's character development is actually not in the original game," explained the actress. "I think that if Square Enix wanted to go with the older voice cast for Final Fantasy VII Remake, there would've been a reason for that. But they didn't, and I think there's a reason for that, too."

Work is already underway for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, which will be arriving "as soon as possible," according to director Tetsuya Nomura. Nevertheless, Square Enix isn't sure how many parts there will be, nor how long each part will become. "We have a rough idea, but haven't exactly decided yet," said producer Yoshinori Kitase. "It's not something we can definitively say. The widespread speculation seems to be that it'll be a trilogy." Sure!
