New PlayStation Free Games Blow PS Plus' November Lineup Away

New PlayStation Free Games Blow PS Plus' November Lineup Away

PlayStation Now has some great games coming to the service this November.

Sony has a bit of an unusual set-up with its PlayStation subscriptions. There is both PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus, the former acts as a library of games subscribers can play and the latter is where you get free games to keep every month. And although most subscribers talk about Plus rather than Now, PlayStation Now’s new games absolutely blow the November lineup out of the water.

As you may already know, November’s PlayStation Plus games are as follows. You’ve got Knockout City, First Class Trouble, and Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning as the main three titles. Virtual reality games, however, are having a really really good month with Until You Fall, The Persistence, and critically acclaimed The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. That’s a lot of content all together but unless you’re a VR fan, November’s titles might feel a little underwhelming. Which is why we were surprised to see some bangers hit PlayStation Now.

A PlayStation blog post announced that Mafia: Definitive Edition, Totally Reliable Delivery Service, Final Fantasy IX, and Celeste were all coming to PlayStation Now, and yeah, these are a bit of a step up from Plus’s offerings.

Here is our review for Mafia: Definitive Edition...

Celeste is one of those famous indie darlings that everyone has to try out here and there. It’s difficult, but absolutely worth the effort and has some great story beats too. Final Fantasy IX is, well, a Final Fantasy game. It’s a series with so much history to it, and respect in games, and if you’re like me and you’ve only just started dipping your toe into the series, why not try IX?

Totally Reliable Delivery Service is for those of us that have played the Overcooked games to death. Of course, the cooking game is now a party classic but if you’ve achieved a perfect score on every level, Totally Reliable Delivery Service asks you and your mates to safely deliver precious packages while causing the least amount of chaos possible. And by the least, I really mean the most.

And then Mafia: Definitive Edition is the revival of the Mafia trilogy. Updated visuals and gameplay make this a great mobster story with plenty of tense moments and action. A great RPG and when it’s on a subscription service, that’s a lot of game for not a lot of money.

All of these titles are great fun and hopefully, December’s PlayStation Plus lineup has a little boost of inspiration next month.
