Last night's BAFTA Game Awards saw PlayStation titles take the (metaphorical) cake in a massive number of categories, with games including The Last Of Us Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

2020 was a stupendous year for the platform, and that's without mentioning the fact that a brand new generation premiered towards the end of it. Astro's Playroom captured our hearts on the PlayStation 5, simultaneously showing off the immersive power of the console as well as delivering an entertaining and adorable adventure for the little mascot. The beginning of the PlayStation 5's life continued strongly with Bugsnax as its first PlayStation Plus bonus, offering family-friendly fun and a surreal story told by creatures with hot dogs for hands.

On the other end of the spectrum, we got Persona 5 Royal which made it into the top ten of our games of the year. "A game as long as it is immersive, as stylish as it is deep, Persona 5 Royal deserves a spot in any PlayStation 4's library," said James, and he tends to know what he's talking about when it comes to excellent titles that you must get your mitts on. The critical reception to The Last Of Us Part 2 was jaw-dropping, winning a record-breaking 260 Game of the Year awards from outlets around the world, and it's also the fastest-selling exclusive for the PlayStation in history. Once again, it's scored a handful more accolades at the BAFTA Games Awards, so without further ado, let's get cracking.

In the categories of Animation and EE Game of the Year, The Last Of Us Part 2 trounced the competition, and Laura Bailey won the award Performer In A Leading Role as Abby. Media Molecule's Dreams got the award for Technical Achievement, which is absolutely no surprise if you've seen the sorts of things that people are creating inside the engine. Beating Animal Crossing, Fall Guys, and Minecraft Dungeons, Sackboy: A Big Adventure walked away with the Family Game award, and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales won the award for Music. Last but not least, Sucker Punch Productions' stealth saga Ghost of Tsushima was recognised for Audio Achievement. Oh, did you know they're making a movie of that game and the director of John Wick is on board?
