Indie gem Cult of the Lamb is currently free to try out for PlayStation Plus Premium members, and it's definitely worth your time.

The last couple of months have been an excellent time to own a PlayStation console, and perhaps more to the point, to be subscribed to PlayStation Plus.

This month, those subscribed to PS Plus are able to claim and keep Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Meet Your Maker and Tails of Iron, which are all very solid freebies (although many have been particularly excited about the addition of Sackboy, for good reason). The additions to the Extra tier game library have been super solid lately too - this month, highlights included Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Slay The Spire (which fans say “shouldn’t be ignored”). Now though, those subscribed to the pricey Premium tier are in for a real treat.

Before we get into it, take a look at the trailer for the lovely adventure game Tchia, which is free to play via PS Plus Extra.

Right now, the excellent 2022 indie roguelike Cult of the Lamb is free to play (at least for a while) via a Premium tier Game Trial. For those unfamiliar, the game puts you into the shoes (hooves?) of a lamb who’s saved by a stranger, and must pay them back by gathering a group of loyal followers in their name. As well as building new resources for your cult, you’ll also venture into a randomly generated world to fight enemies and other cult leaders.

On Reddit, fans have been singing its praises: “I bought it the other night. It is the game I didn't know I needed!” pablo_eskybar commented. “One of my favourite games from last year!” Fluffy_Space_Bunny wrote.

Here at GAMINGbible, we loved Cult of the Lamb too. After creating his own cult filled with creatures named after every member of the GAMINGbible team (which was as funny as it was concerning when our in-game equivalents began to meet their ends), our very own Will McCue described the title as an “indie gem” in his feature piece.

The only downside to this offer is that the Game Trial only allows you to play for free for an hour, but hopefully that’ll still be enough to help you decide if you want to pay for the full thing or not. Doesn’t hurt to try, right?
