Pokémon Black And White get gorgeous Unreal Engine 5 remake you can play now

The best Pokémon games have finally been remade

I don't know much, but I do know that Pokémon Black and Pokémon White are among some of the most underrated video games of all time.

When we talk about the best Pokémon entries, you'll usually Gold/Silver or Ruby/Sapphire. And as much as I love these games, we don't talk nearly enough about the fact Black/White was an absolute quantum leap forward for the series.

Take a look at how Twitch plays Pokémon redefined the platform below!

These are the facts: Unova is one of the best regions. GameFreak pushed the Nintendo DS to its limits with gorgeous sprite based overworlds and battle screens. The fact the regional Pokédex consisted entirely of brand-new Pokémon was a bold and brilliant move that made the game feel fresh and exciting game. It has the best story and characters in the entire series.

Guys, Pokémon Black/White slaps. Which is why I'm so thrilled to see someone has put respect on it by giving us a stunning Unreal Engine 5 remake.

ArcSin Jesse has released two Pokemon demos on PC (thanks, DSO Gaming). The first takes us N's castle, the final area of Black/White. The second reimagines the Sinnoh region from Diamond/Pearl, which is slightly less exciting.

While the demos are a little rough around the edges in some places, the fact one person was able to put these together is remarkable. There are even working battle systems in place, and you can download and play both demos for yourself right now.

Pokémon fans will know that Black/White are next up to get the remake treatment, and while GameFreak has yet to announce anything in that area, it'd definitely be weird if Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl were the final remakes. My only hope is that when we do get Black/White remakes, it looks something a little like these amazing efforts from ArcSin Jesse. Watch this space.
