Pokémon is one of the most beloved franchises of all time, whether it be the animated TV series, a movie, a video game, a card game, plushies and everything in between.
It would be safe to assume that the Pokémon franchise won't be going away anytime soon, but if you have any kind of doubts it will remain for all eternity, then never fear my fellow Trainer.

Back in August this year, GAMINGbible’s Tom Ryan-Smith spoke to the COO of The Pokémon Company, Takato Utsunomiya, and he explained that with the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Nintendo and more, he envisions Pokémon to last for hundreds of years.

“It's a very unique structure and we need to operate as a business and we need to make money of course, but it allows us to really take the long-term view on things and think about everything that we do, how can we keep Pokémon alive for hundreds of years, passing it on to the next generation and making sure that it's survives well past our lifetimes,” explained Utsunomiya.
Furthermore, when speaking to The Guardian, Takato Utsunomiya reiterated his desire for the Pokémon franchise to last well beyond a century, with the games continuing to be "the core of the brand" in the future. Utsunomiya went on to explain how the descriptions from the Pokédex might not have always truly reflected the Pokémon in-game, but that has begun to change with more recent games in the series and there are plans for that aspect to evolve going forward.
“In the original games, there's quite a gap between the descriptions in the Pokédex and what you actually saw in the game," Utsunomiya said. “But starting with Legends Arceus, and Scarlet and Violet, you see [Pokémon like] Bidoof creating dens in the game, and you have Pokémon travelling in packs. So there's a newfound realism of their setting. When it comes to delivering the descriptions seen in the original Pokédex … there's a lot more we can do there.”
So there you have it, Pokémon will be around a lot longer than we live on planet Earth. Long live Pokémon!
