'Red Dead Redemption 2' Actor Supports 'Red Dead Online' Community As Rockstar Backs Away

'Red Dead Redemption 2' Actor Supports 'Red Dead Online' Community As Rockstar Backs Away

Arthur Morgan actor Roger Clark has pledged his support to the Red Dead Online community.

Deep in their hearts, Red Dead Online fans knew that this day was coming: The day that Rockstar turns its back on their beloved child. In recent months, Red Dead Online players launched a huge campaign in a bid to save this legendary multiplayer but alas, Red Dead Online looks set to become Red Dead Offline.

Last week, Rockstar confirmed that they’re moving resources away from Red Dead Online in order to focus on Grand Theft Auto VI. Jokes aside, Red Dead Online isn’t set to disappear for good, but don’t expect big content updates. On the plus side, fans do have the support of a major Red Dead Redemption 2 actor.

Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption wins and fails below.

Arthur Morgan actor Roger Clark pledged his support to the Red Dead Online community. The Red Dead Redemption 2 star took to Twitter to write, “Although today it has my sympathies, I know this community will never die. #outlawsforlife.” It’s a strong message given how prominent of a figure Clark is within the Red Dead community.

Rockstar did previously thank Red Dead Online fans, promising to “continue to highlight and share the creative efforts” of the community but they also dropped the clanger that they “plan to build upon existing modes and add new Telegram Missions this year, rather than delivering major themed content updates.” Oof.

Clark’s tweet actually coincided with a virtual funeral that Red Dead Online fans held yesterday. Players donned black outfits and gathered in the game’s various cemeteries. Some even held virtual wakes, sharing their efforts via the #RedDeadFuneral hashtag on Twitter. It may sound like a melodramatic meme stunt but after a quick scan through the hashtag, it’s evident how much this game means to its players. Can I get a sad yeehaw?
