Red Dead Redemption is no longer streamable on PlayStation, on either new-gen or last-gen consoles, as a result of the changes to the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription service.
It's a shame, as the recency of Red Dead Redemption 2 led to a lot of new players hopping over to the second game in the series to continue the saga of the Van Der Linde gang. Moreover, this removal marks the end of a significant six year stint for the game on PlayStation Now, and likely took a fair few fans by surprise as Sony didn't shout about the impending news.

Of course, if you've got a physical copy of Red Dead Redemption and your PlayStation 3 plugged in, then you're laughing. Additionally, Xbox owners are able to play the game thanks to backwards-compatibility. The tragic yet glorious world of Red Dead Redemption has also benefitted from a lick of 4K paint on the Xbox Series X and Xbox One X, and those on the Xbox Series S get 1440p support.
Expectedly, the response to the game's removal on Sony's streaming services has been one of disbelief and disappointment. "Say what you will about Xbox but they do preservation of *older* games better than anyone else rn," said one. Some have held out hope that this might mean that a re-release or remaster is on the way, however, seeing the way that the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition shook out, that may be an albatross around fans' necks.
