'Skate 4' Playtest Coming Much Sooner Than Anybody Realised

'Skate 4' Playtest Coming Much Sooner Than Anybody Realised

According to prominent insider Tom Henderson, people could be getting emails about the playtest in less than a week's time.

It’s an exciting time for fans of all things gnarly. Last week, prominent gaming insider Tom Henderson claimed that skate. (aka Skate 4) would be seeing a full reveal in July, which is (checks notes) in two days’ time. Oh lawd, it’s upon us.

Well, things just got turned up a notch further. Over on Twitter, Henderson has now claimed that a proper playtest for the game is happening, and it’s happening very, very soon.

Take a look at the teaser trailer for Skate 4 right here.

EA is rolling out emails for a pretty substantially larger Skate 4 playtest for Tuesday, July 5th 10AM PT - Friday, July 8th 5PM PT,” the insider wrote. Fans of calendars will note that 5 July is in less than a week’s time, so if what Henderson is saying is true, it seems that some lucky players could have their hands on this title imminently.

To add more fuel to the fire, as reported by IGN India, one of these playtest emails has supposedly leaked. It was first spotted on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, so take it with a pinch of salt, especially since it was posted about 20 minutes after Henderson’s tweet.

“As you may have heard, skate. is back, and we’re already having a lot of fun. Our goal is to build the game that our community is asking for,” the alleged leaked email reads. “Based on your responses from the Player [Categorisation] survey, we’re excited to invite you to sign up for our upcoming playtest where you will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the game! This is a very early look at the core features of the title and this playtest will give you a glimpse into the future of skate. - you don’t want to miss out! Your feedback is highly valued by the team and will give us insight on how to shape the game.”

Regardless of that email’s legitimacy, again, we have under a week to go until we reach the first of Henderson’s dates. He’s been super specific with the times, too, so it’s looking promising, but we’ll have to see what happens.
