Few games have enjoyed the longevity of success quite like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with players still enjoying the secrets held within the lands of Tamriel all these years later.
Originally released in November 2011 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Bethesda’s fantasy RPG is thriving as well today as it did over 12 years ago. A large reason why Skyrim is still a continued success is down to its ever-vibrant modding community. Yet, even if you don’t indulge in some of the fantastic mods available, there is still plenty of fun exploring the Tamriel and discovering new secrets that the base game has to offer. Though I still wouldn't recommend playing the forever buggy PS3 version.

Since its 2011 release, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been released on almost every platform imaginable with its most recent version being the Anniversary Edition which launched on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2021. Simply put, fans cannot get enough of Skyrim which is why Bethesda keeps releasing new ports. I would say that Skyrim has seen too many ports over the years, but I am one of those who can never get enough.

During the time in which Skyrim was initially released, Reddit user SaveMeCthulhu asked “What is the greatest secret in Skyrim?” They continued: “Just let it out, something that is an overall secret, like something as obscene as an instant death, a sword hidden in a mystery cave, a valuable trick that should never be ignored, or an Easter Egg you have found while playing.”
“You can steal the heart of a Briar Heart Forsworn, while they're still alive. Doing so kills them instantly,” replied spatzist over a decade ago. Ok-Variety-753 replied: “Is anyone else still playing Skyrim in 2024?” Yes my friend, they most certainly are.
“If you try to join the Dark Brotherhood, and kill Astrid in the abandoned shack instead of the hostages, you start a whole different set of events,” suggests legedu. “The Abandoned Prison is a really cool dungeon. It's not a quest, but if you go there, you’ll discover a new story that you can follow,” said Brandon_Darshall.
No doubt years from now, fans will still be sharing the secrets of Skyrim, at least before The Elder Scrolls VI ever arrives. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Skrim is also available at no extra cost to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass as well as the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers.
