Skyrim's first major quest has a hidden 'true' ending that some players are only just discovering.

Despite it being almost 15-years since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was first released and the majority of players feeling as though they have explored everything the RPG has to offer, it seems as though a few secrets may still be lurking throughout the game.

It is no secret that Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the most iconic games of the last twenty years. The RPG has become the subject of many memes, iconic gaming moments and a whole lot of mods but it may also be hiding some secret features that remain unknown to many of its player base.

Luckily, an unearthed Reddit post titled “What are some secrets that you have found in Skyrim?” has compiled them all into one easy thread.

With many users sharing some secrets and interesting tidbits, one user has drawn attention to one of the game’s main and early quests titled 'The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller'. The quest sees our Dragonborn being tasked with fetching the infamous horn from Ustengrav, a dungeon home to many enemies and some challenging puzzles.

However, once these obstacles have been thwarted and we arrive at the supposed horn, we see that it has been replaced with a note which sends us to another location. What follows is a series of quests which eventually lead us to the item which we are instructed to return back to the Greybeards. However, one Reddit user shared an interesting fact.

“If you return the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller back to the dungeon where you were supposed to find it in the first place, you get a free dragon soul as a reward,” they wrote.

Although presenting the Greybeards with the horn will allow you to learn a new Shout as well as seeing the monks recognise you as a true Dovahkiin, a free dragon soul doesn’t sound all that bad either.
