After all these years since its initial release, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim keeps on growing thanks to its ever-vibrant modding community bringing new life to Bethesda’s popular fantasy RPG.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was originally released in 2011 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Since that time it’s been released on just about every platform available with the most recent version being the Skyrim Anniversary Edition released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2021.

One of the most popular mods for Bethesda’s beloved RPG is Skyrim Together which adds multiplayer co-op to the game allowing you to experience all of Tamriel with friends. Another popular mod is Helgen Reborn which, as the name suggests, lets you rebuild the town of Helgen.

Helgen is the first town in the game that players will encounter, you know that place after the events of you being woken up in a cart as a prisoner about to be executed. Then all hell quite literally breaks loose and the dragon known as Alduin crumbles the town with fire allowing you to make your triumphant escape from the cruel grasp of the law.
At least in the official story of Skyrim, Helgen remains a ruin never to be reborn, that is unless you download this free mod in question via Nexusmods. However, not only will Helgen Reborn bring this iconic Skyrim town back to life but it also features new story quests including the discovery of an underground slavery ring, a battle arena, and new lines of dialogue performed by 20 actors, and more.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It’s also available to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass as well as PS Plus Extra and Premium at no extra cost.
