Skyrim player shares easy trick to perfectly recreate yourself in-game

Here's how to recreate the perfect you in Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the gift that keeps on giving all these years after its initial release nearly 15 years ago.

When Bethesda launched The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in 2011, I doubt that even it could predict how successful it would become and that this beloved fantasy RPG set in the world of Tamriel would still be going strong today.

The best part of playing Skyrim for me is the sense of adventure embarking on epic quests and meeting weird, yet wonderful NPCs. Though I’d strongly recommend not kicking a chicken in Skyrim unless you want a horde of angry village NPCs coming after you. That being said, if there’s one aspect of Skyrim that I do not like all that much is its character creation.

I’ve lost count of the amount of hours I’ve tried to recreate a version of myself in Skyrim, but I can never get it quite right. In the end, I often settle with a generic Viking-looking guy. However, a Reddit user shared a handy trick to perfectly recreate yourself in-game.

“After making myself in Skyrim a few months ago I just made my father his character,” said Redditor AureliaRiddle while sharing comparison images of her awesome characters created in Skyrim. Responding to questions on the thread, AureliaRiddle revealed that to recreate herself so perfectly in Skyrim she used an app called RaceMenu, and without it, her creations wouldn't quite be possible.

“I have RaceMenu installed plus extra sliders. With just the vanilla options this wouldn't be possible,” said AureliaRiddle. “That's amazing! You have a talent for recreating faces, Do you have any tips? I’m trying to recreate my girlfriend in the game,” replied ChristianSevilla.

“Take a photo and mirror the face. Figure out which half looks better being mirrored. I printed out the mirrored picture, folded it in half and while creating, I held it up to my monitor to cover up one half of the face and tried to match it,” AureliaRiddle explained. “It helps to start with the preset that fits most, pick out the best basic shapes for the eyes etc and then start tweaking everything. Having mods for additional sliders is really helpful too.”

So there you have it, from the words of a Skyrim character-creating expert, that’s how you can make the perfect you for the world of Tamriel. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
