After all these years, Bethesda fans still cannot get enough of its fantasy RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This is not only due to its huge and expansive world but also thanks to its modding community that continues to bring new life into the ever-popular adventure title.
Originally released in 2011, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been ported to just about every platform imaginable. So, if you’re sick of Skyrim getting a seemingly endless amount of new releases from Bethesda, tell fans to stop buying it. I for one, cannot get enough of Skyrim’s take on Tamriel.

There are simply too many Skyrim mods to mention whether you play on PC, PlayStation or Xbox. However, one mod that is perhaps worth checking out is ‘The Breathing Abyss - Lovecraftian-inspired quest’ and it's available to download now for free via Nexusmods.

Created by nimwraith and BigMacHornet, ‘The Breathing Abyss: “revolves around a mysterious entity that lives in an underwater cavern. Your goal is to uncover what the thing is, why it is there, and if there's any way to stop it. This will involve you speaking with a researcher of the paranormal, Manias. You will be required to gather samples of the creature and its victims to learn vital information about the entity. The quest is heavily inspired by Lovecraft and his works, and it will delve into many of his notorious themes.”
Unfortunately, judging by its Nexusmods page, ‘The Breathing Abyss’ mod is only available on PC and not consoles, which is a shame. Nonetheless, if you play Skyrim on PC, this intriguing mod may be worth your consideration.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. What’s more, it’s also currently available to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium at no extra cost.
