Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg launch a video game studio alongside his son with a killer name.

Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg is beginning a new venture outside the world of hip-hop music with his son.

A fan of both Call of Duty and Fortnite, born on 20 October 1971, Snoop Dogg real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr burst onto the music scene in the early 90s with albums such as Doggystyle under the Death Row Records label alongside the likes of Dr Dre, 2Pac, Lady of Rage and much more.

In recent years, the music career of Snoop Dogg has been on the down low, and in his spare time, he loves nothing more than to stream video games on his Twitch channel. Snoop has even appeared as a playable Operator in Call of Duty alongside the likes of Nicki Minaj.

However, as reported by AfroTech, the rapper is now expanding his passion for video games by launching a video game studio alongside his son, Cordell Broadus under the killer name of Death Row Games. In the future, the father and son duo also hope to expand into the world of video game publishing and development.

Death Row Games aims to create content made by the Unreal Editor used in Fortnite and its focus is minority content creators. “We’ve been creating games, and none of them has been published anything on a huge scale, but on a very amateur level,” Cordell Broadus told AfroTech. “We’ve been around games for the last five to six years. And Snoop, he’s done mobile games. A few of them in the past five to six years in apps and stuff like that. So we’ve always had the mindset of building it on our own.”

Broadus continued: “We felt like let’s really put resources into building Death Row Games and making a home for diverse creators in the gaming ecosystem and be a part of the narrative, the storytelling of what the next game should be looking like. And I keep saying ‘show representation of the culture in these sectors,’ versus us just being the talent. We wanted to make sure that we’re part of the decision that’s being made and more importantly tell these stories from diverse creators and focus on creatives in underserved communities.”
