What better combination in life could we have than Stardew Valley and Pokémon? The answer to that question is absolutely nothing, probably.
Throughout the years since its inception in the west for the original Nintendo Game Boy in 1996, the Pokémon series has become a global juggernaut not only in the world of video games but also in TV animation, movies, merchandise and more. It’s also one of the most chill games you can play. Well, unless that rare Legendary Pokémon escapes your clutches. Again!

As for Stardew Valley, if there was a game best suited as being an “indie darling” it would be the 2016 farming/life sim from developer ConcernedApe. Since its launch, Stardew Valley has sold over a reported 20 million copies across all available platforms and its success even resulted in its very own board game. Perhaps hoping to get just a slice of success comparable to Stardew Valley, Critter Crops looks to stake its claim as the next chill farming sim.

Created by indie developer Skyreach Studio and published by Freedom Games, I get instant cosy chill vibes aided by its enchanting soundtrack just by watching one of the gameplay trailers for Critter Crops.
At the time of writing, Critter Crops does not have a release date other than a 2024 release window, it will also be released on PC and Nintendo Switch.
