'Stranger Things 4' Release Date Confirmed, Next Season Will Be The Last

'Stranger Things 4' Release Date Confirmed, Next Season Will Be The Last

Stranger Things has happened

The long-awaited fourth season of Stranger Things finally has a release date. Or, to be more specific, it has two release dates.

Netflix has announced that the new season of the sci-fi horror series will actually be releasing in two parts, and will be made up of nine extra-large episodes.

Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers confirmed in an open letter to fans that the fourth season is so stupendously big that they decided to release "Part One" earlier so they can work on finishing up "Part Two" while we're all busy with the first batch of episodes.

The first half of the season will premiere on May 27, while the second is set to follow five weeks later on July 1.

"It's coming soon," the brothers wrote. "And it's bigger than ever."

The duo also confirmed that the show is getting a fifth and final season, which will bring the current characters' stories to an end. With that said, the letter did suggest there are "many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things," which sounds very much like we're getting a few spinoff shows, doesn't it?

Stranger Things season four actually started filming back in 2020, but something happened that prevented production from continuing. I can't think what that might have been, can you?

Following multiple delays and setbacks, it's good to know that the new batch of adventures is finally on the way, and set to answer some of our most burning questions from the shocking season three finale. Questions like: how did Hopper survive? What is the Upside-Down? And how does Steve Harrington get his hair to look so damn good?
