Netflix narrows down release date for Squid Game season 2

Netflix narrows down release date for Squid Game season 2

It's likely coming sooner than you'd think

Season 2 of Squid Game could be coming out sooner than you’d think, as its release has been narrowed down to sometime later in the year.

Even if you haven’t watched the show, you’ll have undoubtedly heard of it. Squid Game was the Netflix show that took the world by storm, and even inspired real-world recreations by YouTubers like MrBeast, though obviously with less murder.

Check out the cast announcement for Squid Game Season 2 below.

We know very little about Season 2 apart from what was shown in the trailer and teased at the end of the first season.

After the game had been won, protagonist Seong Gi-hun received their cash prize but was changed on a fundamental level after all the death and torment he’d endured.

The second season will see the character take the fight to the elitists that put him in the game in the first place, in the hopes he can dismantle the entire operation and ensure no one is hurt by it again.

As for when the second season will drop, it’s unfortunately a mystery, though thanks to a recent investor’s meeting from Netflix, the release date can be narrowed down.

It was said that the second season of Squid Game, as well as the sixth season of Cobra Kai, will reportedly debut sometime towards the end of 2024, with any luck.

Now that’s not the exact release date fans will be hoping for but it’s better than nothing, and judging from some of the clips shown in the trailer it looks like it’ll be well-worth the wait.

Hopefully it’s just as successful as the first season, and depending on what happens, it could very well leave the door open for a third season, maybe even a spin-off.
