The Elder Scrolls 6 teases confirms we're keeping Skyrim's best feature

The Elder Scrolls 6 teases confirms we're keeping Skyrim's best feature

One ex-Bethesda developer has teased that we should expect The Elder Scrolls 6 to retain one of Skyrim's best features.

Oh, how we yearn for The Elder Scrolls VI’s release. Unfortunately, we’ve still got quite a wait ahead of us, my friends.

While, yes, Starfield has now been released, it very much remains a key focus at Bethesda. This year will see several community requested features land in the game such as the addition of city maps.

Alongside this, there’s also the mysterious Shattered Space story expansion of which we know very little about.

This too is believed to be dropping in 2024 so could receive a full reveal in the next couple of months.

Development is already ramping up on The Elder Scrolls VI with Bethesda having recently enlarged the size of its team working on the project.

That being said, we should expect things to intensify once again when Starfield’s team is eventually reduced.

It’s certainly split opinion but there’s plenty of fun to be had in Starfield. Take a look at some of our favourite wins and fails below.

As for what we can expect to see in The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda head Todd Howard has already teased that he wants to create the “ultimate fantasy world simulator” which sounds like a natural progression based on what we’ve seen in earlier franchise entries.

We all know how beloved Skyrim is. If The Elder Scrolls VI builds upon these foundations, it’s destined to be a surefire success, surely?

According to one developer who exited the project, The Elder Scrolls VI will do just that. As reported by Metro, former design director Bruce Nesmith said that TESVI will “absolutely” use Skyrim’s levelling up and progression system.

For those of you who haven’t played Skyrim (which you should), that means using certain skills to level them up, rather than assigning points.

Nesmith further added that we could see a similar magic system implemented too. Of course, The Elder Scrolls VI is still fairly in its development and Nesmith retired from Bethesda in 2021 so we should take all of this with a pinch of salt.

That being said, it does feel somewhat like a given that Bethesda is going to borrow some of the best traits from the franchise’s back catalogue.

I think I can speak on behalf of all of us when I say that I can’t wait to see this game come together.
