When The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in 2015, whether you’d played the two games that came before or not, it quickly shot to the top of many gamers' greatest RPGs of all time list.
Developed by CD Projekt RED, The Witcher 3 stars Geralt of Riveria as the main protagonist, a monster slayer for hire in the lands of the Continent, a fantasy world inspired by Slavic mythology and based on the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski.

What’s more, just when we thought that CDPR’s RPG couldn't get any better, it went on to release two fantastic expansions, which could have quite easily been standalone games with Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. The latter of which is today’s topic of discussion.
“Blood and Wine DLC is better than the base game imo,” said Redditor Aggravating_Key_3831 kicking off the discussion on the thread. “I finished both the main game and Hearts of Stone DLC not too long ago but was never really a fan of those stories and almost dropped the game until I got to the Blood and Wine DLC and I’m so glad I stayed.”

They continued: “The writing for this was absolutely engrossing and its side quests were much more fun than the main game’s. Not to mention that the overall design of the Toussaint is so vibrant and colourful that it feels like it was ripped out of a fairy tale book. Personally, I’d go back to The Witcher 3 solely for this DLC because never in all my years of gaming have I seen any game bring out a DLC this big. It defines what an expansion should be.”
“Blood and Wine was absolutely goated. I have put way too many hours into The Witcher 3,” replied jtashby. “Blood and Wine is a much happier, calmer, enjoyable place compared to most regions of the main map, " said Takhar7.
