The Witcher: Corvo Bianco is the Blood And Wine sequel we've been craving

With the CD Projekt Red team hard at work on the next Witcher game, fans were sad to hear that the much-loved Geralt of Rivia would not be reprising his role as lead. However, it seems as though the grizzly monster-hunter still has a future ahead.

The Witcher 4 is next on the cards for developers CD Projekt Red (alongside Cyberpunk 2, of course) but despite the good news, some fans were disappointed to hear that it may not include the main man himself, Geralt of Rivia. Although we are unsure who the next chapter of the story will follow, the fact remains that many of us will miss the grumpy swordsman.

However, all is not lost after it was recently revealed that a graphic novel series is set for release titled The Witcher: Corvo Bianco. Not only will it follow Geralt but it will also follow him after the events of The Witcher 3’s DLC, Blood and Wine so we can see what he gets up to after retirement.

Written by Bartosz Sztybor (best known for penning several The Witcher graphic novels as well as being a scriptwriter for Cyberpunk Edgerunners) and illustrated by Tonci Zonjic, Neyef, and Jorge Molina, The Witcher: Corvo Bianco is set to take place across five issues.

Published by Dark Horse, the synopsis reads as follows: “For a witcher, the simple life can be hard to come by, and even harder to pass up. When Geralt acquires a taste for a slower pace — good wine, and good company — the routines of a witcher are easily eclipsed. With Yennefer at his side, one might hope that Geralt will truly get to enjoy a taste of the good life. But the stains of history are deep, and with blood and wine, every drop attracts those who want more.”

With the cover art released and showing Geralt of Rivia set across stunning looking backgrounds, fans of the series and beyond are excited for more of the not-so-retired Witcher. Luckily for them, they only have to wait until May 8th when The Witcher: Corvo Bianco #1 hits the shelves!
