The Halo TV show’s second season will reportedly feature an impressive lengthy sequence filmed in a single take.
After a first season that even disappointed the game’s creator, it seems the Halo live-action show is going all-out to impress fans with the promise of better story, more action, and hopefully no more Master Cheeks scenes.

While hyping up the second season, executive producer Kiki Wolfkill said there’ll be an “intense” scene filmed in a single take. These aren’t uncommon in film or TV nowadays but when they’re done right, they’re often the highlight of the entire season.

Examples I tend to think of are the infamous hallway fights from Marvel’s Daredevil show, and more recently one of the kitchen scenes from The Bear.
Wolfkill went on to say the team wanted to deliver a “grounded subjective perspective for the audience”. She continued, “With episode four, we had a director named Craig Zisk. There’s obviously big events that happen in episode four. It’s very action focused. And while we had a lot of action in Season One, I think the approach to this was very different … the camera work was part of that and having it really feel like you’re in a moment and that moment just keeps building an intensity.”
Let’s be honest, a one-shot scene of Master Chief and his team fighting off a horde of Covenant sounds incredible, so hopefully the work put into filming pays off when the episode airs.
As for the rest of season two, it seems it’ll borrow elements from Halo: Reach and introduce Spartan IIIs, but don’t expect to see Noble 6’s famous last stand adapted to live-action. It’s also theorised that the finale episode will take the cast to one of the Halo rings.

Halo's second season will air on 8 February exclusively for Paramount+ and looks to be a vast improvement over the first season.
