Hunter Schafer wants to play Zelda in the live-action movie

Hunter Schafer wants to play Zelda in the live-action movie

She would certainly fit the role

On the red carpet for the latest Hunger Games film, Hunter Schafer was asked if they would want to play the role of Princess Zelda in the upcoming Legend of Zelda film.

The answer was an emphatic yes as Schafer said "That would be so cool, I love the game, personally. I played it as a kid and I still play it now. Who knows! That would be pretty cool.”

It's thought the film will be less Breath of the Wild and more Ocarina of Time

Hunter Schafer had already visited the idea of playing Zelda in older interview with Entertainment Tonight saying "I mean yeah, that would be cool. I played that video game a bunch when I was a kid. That’s such a good game.”

Schafer was able to make comments as actors got back to the press junkets since the SAG-AFTRA strike was ended and Hunter was asked about the Zelda role while promoting The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Personally, I adore Hunter Schafer since I saw their performance in Euphoria and I've watched as much of her work as I can. Her acting always commands the screen and draws the audience in, so her appearing as Princess Zelda would be a brilliant get.

Fans are wildly speculating on who will play Link in the recently announced live-action film and the guesses are all over the place - fans just don't want Tom Holland. Of course, fans of the franchise will be aware that Link is a silent protagonist, so how Nintendo and Sony handles this will be interesting to see and could become controversial. Will he stay silent? Or will we see a whole new side to the character going forward?

Only time will tell on this project, we're in for months of wild speculation and guesswork until Nintendo shows their cards.
