Machine Gun Kelly wants to play Link in Zelda movie and please god no

No. Just, no.

Machine Gun Kelly, Colson Baker to his friends, wants to play Link in the upcoming live-action movie of The Legend of Zelda. I'm here, as one of many, to say no thank you.

Colson has done a spot of acting in his career and honestly, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I'm sure that Machine Gun Kelly could pull off a role where he doesn't speak, but my guy would need to be digitally de-aged, shrunk and have the photoshop treatment to erase all those tattoos for the film.

With so many amazing games, which will lead the design of the upcoming film?

Sure, he loves the games (who doesn't) and he dressed as Link this past Halloween, but that doesn't qualify you to play one of gaming's most iconic characters. Still, Machine Gun Kelly took to Instagram to express his want to play Link saying "If I don't play Link we have a problem." Colson, get in line dude.

I could turn this article into a piece about how Machine Gun Kelly doesn't seem stay in one lane, constantly shifting paths and even musical genre, but instead I'll say this, whoever is picked to play Link will need to be an unknown actor or someone lesser known.

The Legend of Zelda's Link is such a subtle character despite the big action moments. If Nintendo and Sony want to follow the games closely Link won't even talk, plus Link has that androgynous look that many won't suit. One actor who has been floated as an idea to play Zelda, and who I think would fit perfectly, is Hunter Schafer. But, there aren't many Hollywood notables who could fill Link's Pegasus Boots, so of course it'll be Tom Holland or Chris Pratt (said with so much snark).

Whoever it ends up being, it won't be Machine Gun Kelly. Sorry Colson, it's not you, it's us.
