The Last Of Us' Pedro Pascal wins Male TV Star Of The Year

The Last Of Us' Pedro Pascal wins Male TV Star Of The Year

Pedro Pascal has won Male TV Star of the Year at the People's Choice Awards, revealing he's begun filming on season two of The Last of Us.

Pedro Pascal continues to be the man of the moment, winning Male TV Star of the Year at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.

Just a few days ago, Marvel Studios finally confirmed that Pedro will be taking on the highly coveted role of Reed Richards in the MCU’s upcoming Fantastic Four film, alongside Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Alongside that, Pedro is also set to star in Gladiator 2, The Mandalorian & Grogu, Tropico, and The Uninvited. To say that the man is booked and busy is a colossal understatement. It’s no real surprise that he swooped the prize of Male TV Star of the Year for his role as Joel in The Last of Us, and as a surprise treat for fans, Pedro offered an update on season two while accepting the award.

Take a look at our review of The Last of Us Part II Remastered below.

As it turns out, Pedro couldn’t accept the award in person after revealing that he’s up in Vancouver, Canada, filming the second season of the show. “I’m in Vancouver right now. I so wish I could be with all of you. You guys have no idea how much I wish I could be with you, so you can see me barely be able to pick this [award] up.”

He continued, “I’ll start by recognising the incredible fortune of having been chosen by the incredible creator’s of the show [...] and to be with Bella Ramsey leading me through it. I wouldn’t have a character without them, and we wouldn’t have a show without our incredible crew. [...] The biggest fortune is to receive this award on behalf of the people, of the fans.”

The Last of Us’ second season will, of course, adapt The Last of Us Part II with new cast members including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, and Catherine O’ Hara in an undisclosed role.
