This ‘Grand Theft Auto: Vice City’ Unreal Engine 5 Remake Is A Work Of Art

Unreal Engine 5 is capable of incredible things, and it already feels like we’ve peaked when it comes to photorealistic graphics. Earlier this month, one creator made a train station in UE5 which fooled us all into believing that it was real world footage.

Creators far and wide have been using UE5 to both reimagine games and dream up new ones. Marvel characters like Iron Man and Spider-Man have both received fan-made UE5 demos, while another creator designed a brand new playable Halo level and the end result was stunning.

Take a look at the upcoming dino game Instinction below, made in Unreal Engine 5.

The next title to undergo the UE5 remake treatment is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The epic transformation is the work of YouTuber TeaserPlay, and the remake is everything we wished the Definitive Edition would have been. Rockstar, take note. Check out the incredible project below.

Speaking about the project, TeaserPlay said, “I used Lumen for rendering. My point in making this video was to show how powerful Unreal Engine 5 is for making sandbox games and what the remastered version of GTA Vice City should have looked like.” TeaserPlay later dedicated the project to actor Ray Liotta who tragically passed away this week. Liotta famously voiced Tommy Vercetti in the game.

It’s not the first GTA project that TeaserPlay has undertaken. The creator recently posted a UE5 remake of GTA: San Andreas which is equally as stunning. TeaserPlay has certainly succeeded in showcasing what a remaster of GTA should look like.

Users shared their thoughts in the comments. AdCodeur wrote “In my opinion, Rockstar must hire this guy. He's more than a true artist and a professional developer,” and TIPD 41 said “This is a beauty. I wish Rockstar would have paid more attention to these beautiful games which gave us lots of good memories.” Me too, sigh.
