Xbox Series X/S gamers are finally getting a major fix, you can install now

Rejoice, the fix is here

Xbox players rejoice. Baldur’s Gate 3 players rejoice. A fix is finally coming for the bug that keeps breaking your save files.

There has been a bug in Baldur’s Gate 3 for a while that has been corrupting players’ save files, completely wiping out adventures. It was happening to many, wiping out hundreds of hours worth of progress. This issue has persisted for weeks by now and any Xbox players were becoming increasingly worried about putting in more hours that could easily vanish.

Xbox users will hopefully no longer lose their save files for Baldur's Gate 3

A patch is here and has been announced by the Xbox Twitter account saying “An Xbox System Update will be rolling out from today to address the Save Game issue on Baldur's Gate 3.” While you can wait for your game to update - it will apply within the next week - selecting a manual update will apply straight away and you can finally get back to vanquishing evil and sleeping with your party of friends.

Michael Douse of Larian Studios also tweeted saying “Save issue on Xbox should finally be over. Download the update when it goes live and please do let me know how you get on!” Hopefully, this fix gets rid of the issue for good. Losing time in any game is a heartbreak, but more so if you’re losing hundreds of hours. This is not the only issue facing Xbox users, some of whom have been banned recently for saving clips of the characters during sexy time.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was recently lauded as Steam’s best-selling game of 2023 which is no surprise given the game’s critical acclaim. The game can seemingly do no wrong as millions of players swarm to the title to enjoy the branching storylines, the wealth of combat options, and gorgeous animation. If you haven’t already played, make it your mission.
