Remember that old chestnut, that the Xbox Series X looks like a fridge? Microsoft does, and it sent this home appliance in the shape of the new console to Snoop Dogg.

In a hastily-deleted post from the rapper, Snoop stands before what looks like a giant Xbox Series X, with its logo glowing brightly in a green screen studio. He pulls open the front of the box, revealing that it is in fact, a fridge. Inside the fridge is a birthday cake, once more shaped like the next-generation gizmo, that says "Happy Birthday to the Xbox OG" in green icing. There's also gin and juice, some Xbox-themed jewelry, and an actual Xbox Series X, all stored inside the fridge. One assumes this is not the novel cooling method for the new Xbox: just whack it in with the marg for a bit.

Anyway, Snoop signs off the video with "It's in the game," the iconic EA Sports catchphrase. It appears as though he wasn't allowed to show off the ridiculously large fridge, owing to the fact that this post was originally deleted and then uploaded again by noted industry insider Wario64. Furthermore, Xbox itself replied to the re-upload with the worried monkey meme, showing that it isn't too fussed about the fallout.

Intriguingly, this news arrives not long after Travis Scott and Sony announced their partnership. Scott is now a strategic creative partner for the PlayStation 5, which means he'll promote and collaborate with the company through his Cactus Jack brand, and he's gotten swishy new shoes out of it, too. The PlayStation x Nike Dunk Low shoes are only the first of the "innovative projects" from Scott that Sony hopes will "delight our collective fans." As an artist who is "constantly surprising, and continues to push boundaries," PlayStation says Scott will be clued into the company's creative direction.

Of course, the Xbox Series X was made over many times before Microsoft settled on the big blocky design. In photos of the original concepts, these included something that looked a lot like the Xbox One, which would have caused even more confusion at the checkouts. Xbox is not one to do things by halves, for sure. With the Xbox Series X and Series S offering a different package for different audiences, and the PlayStation 5 emphasising exclusives and technical artistry, the divergence between Microsoft and Sony only gets greater going into the next generation.
