If you’re an Assassin’s Creed fan and you’ve made your way through the mainline games (well done on that monumental task), then you may be looking for something new to play. As an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you’ll find plenty of games available that feel a lot like the Ubisoft franchise.

We’ve picked a selection of games for you to check out, many of which feature some stealth mixed with plenty of action, and some feature large open-worlds full of unique character.
Arkham Knight
The third in the Arkham series of Batman games, Arkham Knight is a wonderful open world superhero adventure filled with action. Of course, stealth is also on the cards, this is Batman after all. Prowling around the rooftops or rafters of buildings and getting the drop on enemies is always satisfying, but if stealth is not your strong suit, you can go toe-to-toe with the scum of Gotham and batter them as you see fit. Plus you get to drive the Batmobile, so that’s nice.
Dishonored
Another title that allows you to pursue one of two paths - stealth or pure action. Players of this classic may all agree that stealth is more satisfying, but running a combination of weapons and mystical powers definitely feels great too. Dishonored is renowned among players and critics as being one of the best gaming experiences out there due to its world-building and high stakes gameplay. Add this to a very satisfying story set within a gorgeous gothic world, and you have a brilliant game that’s just one from a trilogy of titles in this world.
Hitman: World of Assassination
Time for more assassinations! Hitman is more of an assassination simulator when compared to Assassin’s Creed. There’s far more action in Ubisoft’s titles, while Hitman requires more forward-thinking and planning ahead. Think changing costumes to infiltrate a party, or watching enemy movements and memorising their actions so you can intercept them at the right moment. Hitman: World of Assassination is three Hitman games within this hub-style game, so you’ll have plenty to keep you going for hours and hours.
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Created by Ubisoft themselves, this open-world adventure had it all. It was funny, challenging in places, and lovely to look at, plus it featured lots of Greek mythology throughout. It’s an underrated game that managed to capture the hearts of many players who looked past some middling review scores and found an enjoyable RPG with lots of heart. One that borrows and honours many aspects of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There may not be much stealth needed, but Immortals Fenyx Rising does action very well, and it has all that lovely exploration for hidden areas that a good open-world title should have.
Star Wars: Fallen Order
It’s time for a sci-fi adventure in a galaxy far, far away. While Star Wars: Fallen Order doesn’t feature much in the way of assassinations, it does feature plenty of exploration, great action set-pieces, and a solid story that will keep you coming back even if you aren’t the biggest Star Wars fan. Because who doesn’t want to wield a lightsaber and destroy droids, or battle aliens on a quest to eliminate evil? If you’re familiar with any of the Soulsborne games, you’ll recognise the formula here, but it’s safe to say that Fallen Order is a little more forgiving and welcoming than something like Dark Souls. Plus, there’s a cute droid sidekick.
