Amouranth says completely ditching her adult content would be ‘selfish'

Last year, Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa alleged that her husband had been abusing her and controlling her content, and claimed that she was forced to pretend to be single online.

Following her getting away from her husband, she began streaming more games than hot tubs, and said she was much happier as a result. However, as Kotaku reports, she’s now addressed what she says is an “ignorant take” from some who believe she’s not changed her content at all since the allegations.

“The MOST ignorant take I run into is when people say ‘LOL you didn’t change your content - you liar’. I DIRECTLY EMPLOY close to 20 people, I indirectly (services, editing, etc) pay/work with another ~nine on top of that,” she wrote. “It would be selfish and irresponsible to do a 180 at a moment notice. I gave 60 days notice to my ‘lewd’ content staff letting them know they could find other employment but that their positions would be locked in for two months.”

The streamer continued, explaining that many of her staff who worked on or around her adult content have now been assigned to new, unannounced projects.

“Non-content creators in the peanut gallery think I’m supposed to just lay off everyone and instantly change my content. Congrats on never having run an org - it sounds nice but it’s not fair to my staff,” she continued. “Additionally my dreams and end goals require substantial passive income (which I have to buy with my active earnings). Doing all this in a deliberately measured way is the compassionate approach. I ultimately was able to find new positions for EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER.”

Siragusa went on to say that over the next six months, she has “tons of fun projects” to share, but “you’ll never see a headline RE mass layoffs from me.”

“Anyone who says I’m not in control is down a parasocial rabbit hole,” she wrote. “I do what I want now, and although many seem to relish in misconstruing my original words - it’s always been about having [personal] agency, some people want to delude themselves into thinking that if I wasn’t under some undue influence I’d do things differently, make different content from day one (or marry them). Casting doubt about my autonomy is their new cope.”
