Assassin's Creed fans confused as Ubisoft pulls fan-favourite game with no warning

Assassin’s Creed fans were left bewildered and confused when Ubisoft pulled a fan favourite game off Steam, only to relist it shortly after.

In an emotional rollercoaster, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations was unexpectedly delisted from Steam with no warning, prompting fans to speculate what could be going on behind the scenes at Ubisoft.

While Assassin’s Creed: Revelations pales in comparison to other beloved titles in the series, like Assassin’s Creed II and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, it scored favourably amongst critics and fans, making its disappearance worrying.

The news was shared in a Reddit thread titled “Ubisoft delists Assassin's Creed Revelations from Steam without any notice.” Several theories were passed around as to why it was removed from the online store, with some speculating it meant a collection was on the way, and others believing it was just a mistake on Ubsoft’s part.

“Because they'll probably release the Ezio Collection”

“AC Revelations remake confirmed”

“Its not like you can't buy it elsewhere, so anyone thinking it means something are getting ahead of themselves”

In a surprising turn of events, multiple users provided an update, when the missing game magically appeared back on Steam as if it had never been gone in the first place.

“It's back up”

While no explanation has been given as of yet, it was more than likely caused by a glitch in the system, and not an indication that Ubisoft are planning to update or remake the game anytime soon. If they were to go down the route of remakes, they’d obviously need to start with the original game, or the more popular Assassin’s Creed II.

In other news, Assassin’s Creed fans are patiently awaiting the next game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which will take the series back to its roots of stealth-focused gameplay and flashy assassinations. The map size will also be significantly smaller compared to previous games like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
