'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' Update Quietly Improves Game's Worst Feature

'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' Update Quietly Improves Game's Worst Feature

Quietly does it

Assassin's Creed Valhalla's massive 1.5.0 patch is available to download right now, and brings with it a huge suite of much-needed improvements.

The update for Ubisoft's Viking RPG clocks in at a whopping 15GB on PC, 12.27GB on Xbox Series X/S, 9.84GB on Xbox One, 7.94GB on PlayStation 4 and just 3.6GB on PlayStation 5, but what does it actually do?

This new update is, first and foremost, all about getting Assassin's Creed Valhalla ready for the Dawn Of Ragnarok expansion on March 10. This paid DLC will include new gear, a new map, story content, and loads more. But regardless of whether you purchase the new expansion, update 1.5.0 has a little something for everyone.

As reported by Eurogamer, one of the most welcome additions in the new patch is a handful of changes to the game's oft-maligned stealth systems.

Stealth in Assassin's Creed Valhalla is pretty rubbish, which is a huge shame given the series' roots as a stealth-action adventure. While update 1.5.0 doesn't exactly bring Valhalla to the level of Assassin's Creed II, it does make stealth slightly more manageable. Enemies now react quicker to Eivor's whistle, and wild animals no longer have the ability to spot us from miles away and blow our cover. Y

Ubisoft has also added a new "Saga" difficulty, a new easier option for players who just want to play through the story without having to worry at all about combat or stealth. You can read through the rest of the patch notes right here.
