Cyberpunk 2077 future updates teased, we're not done yet

Cyberpunk 2077 future updates teased, we're not done yet

CD Projekt Red are not finished with Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 had seen a supposed end to content updates with the Phantom Liberty DLC and the large 2.1 update which brought the game to the point where CD Projekt Red appeared to be done with the game. While most fans were happy to finally see the Cyberpunk 2077 release that the developer originally intended, many were sad to see support ending.

Thankfully, the door isn’t fully closed as yet. Director of Cyberpunk 2077, Gabe Amatangelo, has recently commented that “There might be some small things in the future.” However, it entirely depends on whether any ideas are worth the investment of time.

The one and only DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 was a huge hit for fans and critics alike

Many of CD Projekt Red’s team are now hard at work on The Witcher 4, but this won’t stop some of the remaining team left on Cyberpunk 2077 from creating new ideas in Night City. Amatangelo continued, “It really comes down to how the focus is working on the sequel for Cyberpunk, and as opportunities present themselves, if there’s like a little something – a low-hanging fruit if you will, and someone on the team is passionate about it – we’re open to it. Who’s to say over the next couple of years, but nothing big.”

Don’t expect anything as big as the metro system recently added to the game, but maybe we’ll see some new secrets to find, or something simple like new vehicles or weapons, should the need arise. According to CD Projekt Red, only 17 members of staff remain on Cyberpunk 2077 and their key job is to implement bug fixes and small updates. At least the door remains open, but you shouldn’t get your hopes up too high as surely any big ideas will be kept aside for the Cyberpunk sequel which we’ll inevitably see in several years.
