This 'Dark Souls 4' Unreal Engine 5 Trailer Is A Thing Of Beauty

If you've ever dreamt about what Dark Souls 4 would look like, this trailer has got you covered.

At this point, it’s unlikely that Dark Souls 4 is going to happen. Once upon a time, it was reasonable to dream of such a thing but then Elden Ring came along and given its success, I’m almost certain that FromSoftware are going to ride that wave for as long as they can.

It’s not totally bad news though, because one fan has taken matters into their own hands, daring to dream and creating an incredible Dark Souls 4 trailer in Unreal Engine 5 and damn, it’s good.

Have you spotted this Dark Souls easter egg hiding in Elden Ring? Check it out below.

The Dark Souls 4 trailer has been created by YouTuber TeaserPlay who’s made quite a name for themselves in recent weeks. The creator has also made epic trailers for UE5 remakes of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Vice City, and Silent Hill. Their latest venture doesn’t include any combat mechanics but it does combine Dark Souls’ UI with some incredible environments, and it’s enough that I immediately want this game now. Take a look below.

Speaking about the project, TeaserPlay wrote, “This game is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games for Souls fans. [...] Dark Souls IV could be made with the theme of Greek culture, [with] huge buildings and sculptures - and countless mythical stories could be a good option for the new opening of the Souls series. I used Lumen and Nanite for rendering this video in Unreal Engine 5 and apart from its concept features, it could be an amazing showcase from this powerful game engine.”

Unsurprisingly, users flocked to the comments to call on FromSoftware to make this game. Alex Trem wrote, “FromSoftware, hire this man,” while Nathan Harris said, “I like the idea, and I would love to see more from this.” There was some criticism aimed at the trailer’s brightness but hey, this is a fan project in its infancy. It’s certainly an epic starting point for what Dark Souls 4 could be.
