Destiny 2 announces Mass Effect crossover featuring Garrus and Shepard

Destiny 2 announces Mass Effect crossover featuring Garrus and Shepard

Bungie has announced an epic crossover event with BioWare's Mass Effect.

BioWare’s Mass Effect series is one of the most beloved sci-fi RPGs of all time, and at least when it comes to the multiplayer looter-shooter, it’s fair to say that the Destiny series has its fair share of fans too.

Developed by Bungie, the original creators of the Halo series, Destiny arrived in 2014 with massive anticipation from gamers and while it had a rough start at launch with server issues and a lack of content, it went on to become one of the most popular multiplayer shooters of its genre in the years that followed. The series was made arguably bigger and better with its 2017 sequel and much like its predecessor, it has been supported with a wealth of content updates and expansions. Whether the Destiny series is as popular today as it once was is a topic for another day.

In recent months, Destiny 2 has been collaborating with other publishers to bring crossover content such as CD Projekt’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC. Now, announced via a Bungie blog post, it's the turn of the Mass Effect series from BioWare. At this time, we do not know how pricey the Mass Effect DLC will be, but it’s probably safe to assume that it will be more costly than the average Destiny 2 DLC.

From 13 February 2024, you will be able to purchase the ‘Normandy Crew Bundle’ which includes Commander Shepard-inspired N7 armour for Titans, a Garrus-inspired Vakarian armour for Hunters, and a Liara-inspired Shadow Broker armour for Warlocks. What’s more, you can also purchase the ‘Omni Strike’ finisher as well as the ‘Flux Dance’ emote. However, that is not all, because players can claim the ‘Alliance Requisitions Bundle’ which includes the ‘Enhanced Defence Ghost Shell’, the ‘Alliance Scout Frigate’ ship and the ‘Alliance Drop Ship Sparrow’ at no cost.

Destiny 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox with full cross-play support.
