Fortnite to get first-person mode in next chapter, says leaker

Fortnite is getting a first-person mode in its next chapter, according to a leaker.

Fortnite is one of the biggest video games on the planet and in an attempt to stay ahead of its competitors, the developers at Epic Games are always looking at new ways to freshen up its formula.

When the third-person shooter Fortnite was first released in July 2017, few could predict how much of a groundbreaking success it would turn out to be. Believe it or not, during its development, there were reportedly no plans to release a battle royale mode.

Take a look at the current season in action below.

When Fortnite initially launched, its main mode was Save the World - a co-op tower defence game in which players would fight off hordes of enemies while building structures to keep them at bay. However, in September 2017, Epic Games launched the battle royale and it changed the genre forever.

Since its launch in late 2017, Fortnite battle royale remains one of the most successful video games on the planet, staying ahead of its main competitors: Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone and PUBG. With each new season and chapter, the developers like to mix things up a little, whether it be new characters, new themes, and new modes such as the recently released (and overdue) ranked mode. Many fans have also been longing to play Fortnite in a first-person perspective and it seems those fans could soon be getting their wish.

A leaker that goes by the name Additional_Example51 shared a batch of screenshots on Reddit that show Fortnite in a first-person perspective. While these images may be genuine, we can’t also rule out that they could be some kind of conversion mod or something put together with Epic Games assets.

Of course, the alleged leaked screenshots could be genuine, as we pretty much know that a first-person mode in Fortnite is a certainty. Additional_Example51 claims that the mode will arrive in the next chapter. Assuming they are referring to Chapter 5, the first-person mode could be released sometime during late 2023.

In related Fortnite news, another leaker recently claimed that the popular battle royale is getting its biggest-ever content drop during the finale of Season 4.
