Ubisoft has announced its post-launch plans for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and it includes a heady mix of free and paid content. The most significant content comes as part of the Valhalla season pass, which is made up of two major expansions that promise to open up the world considerably. Players who purchase the pass will eventually be able to explore Ireland and Paris on their adventures.
The first expansion, Wrath of the Druids, is coming Spring 2021. It involves Eivor travelling to Ireland to track down a Druid cult, although it's not entirely clear how much of Ireland we'll get to see during this expansion, but the description promises "haunting forests" and "dazzling landscapes". The second arrives in Summer 2021, and is called The Siege Of Paris. Players will be able to relive the "most ambitious battle in Viking History" as they attempt to infiltrate Paris.
In addition, season pass owners will get access to an exclusive mission called The Legend Of Beowulf. This quest leaked earlier in the year, and will give players a chance to "discover the cruel truth" behind the Old English poem.
If you're not into the idea of paid expansions, Ubisoft also has quite a lot of free seasonal content planned. Season 1 kicks off the post-launch content in December with a new settlement area, a traditional Viking Yule festival, river raids, and additional ranks and abilities. We don't know quite as much about Season 2 and Season 3, but Ubisoft briefly touched on what to expect from it.

"Season 2, also free to all players, will follow on March 2021," Ubisoft explained. "It will also include free content including a new combat-oriented game mode, a Jomsviking update, and Settlement festivals, along with new gear and cosmetic items. Details on Season 3 will be revealed at a later date."
Finally, history buffs will be glad to know that Valhalla is getting its own Discovery Tour at some point in 2021. This violence-free mode was introduced in Assassin's Creed Origins, and gives players a chance to explore and learn about the stunningly detailed worlds Ubisoft have built. These are actual windows into history, after all, and the development team puts a ton of work into making sure you might learn a thing or two along the way.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on November 10th.
