Among the riots at Capitol Hill in DC there was one tattoo on show that seemed to confuse some observers. A tattoo that many of us recognise as a mark of the Outsider from the Dishonored video games, was accused of being an Antifa symbol on Twitter and social platforms, before being rightly identified.
As MAGA and Trump followers stormed the Capitol Hill building, there was a flood of images being sent out to the wider world as we all watched the violent insurrection occur. One image has the back of a man's hand facing the camera, with a clear tattoo on display. It seems that in an effort to blame the violent actions of this group on others, one Twitter user decided to claim this unusual looking symbology was a sign of the anti-fascist group, Antifa.
Those who recognised the tattoo, however, were quick to point out that this isn't in fact a political declaration, rather, a sign that this guy likes Arkane Studio's work. The tattoo is a replication of the Outsider's mark, a big theme in both Dishonored games.
Corvo and Emily are both receivers of this mark as a sign that they have been 'chosen' by a supernatural force called the Outsider. The Outsider appears to those of particular interest and doesn't claim to be either good or evil, but just a sort of chaotic figure that observes the events of the games. He appears to look human but he's more like a god, at one with something called the Void and perpetually interested in seeing the results of normal people being given superhuman abilities.

The Outsider's Mark is the source of the power that allows Corvo and Emily to do all sorts of cool superpower type things like teleporting and time manipulation, and has in no way been related to Antifa. We just hope that the guy in the photo hasn't been chosen by the Outsider too, eh?
