‘Fall Guys’ Season Two Revealed, And There Be Dragons

And there be knights. And wizards. And giant chickens.

As part of the Gamescom: Opening Night stream, the latest in Geoff Keighley's ever-expanding franchise of game shows, Mediatonic has revealed the first sneak peek of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout's Season Two. And it's going to be just the ticket if you like your game shows medieval shaped.

Season two of Fall Guys brings a string of new stages and costumes that feature knights, wizards, and dragons. And, as you might expect, they're all cute as heck. You can see them on show in the trailer below:

Fall Guys has taken the internet by storm, shipping more than 7 million copies on Steam since it was released in early August. And, while, yes, it was free to PlayStation Plus players for the first month of release, it has also become the most successful PlayStation Plus game ever, even outdoing Rocket League and some Call of Duty titles. We can all agree: that's impressive.

Season Two is still in development and Mediatonic wasn't prepared to say exactly when it would be out, but it sounds like it will be soon. The developers did reveal a little about what new gameplay we'd see in the new maps, including movable ramps that you will need to drag into place if you want to get through the obstacle courses and get a shot at grabbing the ever-elusive crown.

While we might have come to expect new seasons on the scale of a Fortnite or Warzone release, it's nevertheless cool to see what we can expect from each new Fall Guys season. Smaller scale, sure, but new themes open up a lot of possibilities. Superheroes, ninjas, the poll tax, it's all on the table.

I for one would like to see a Don Quixote Fall Guys set, where you dress as geriatric knights and joust other players dressed as windmills. But that's just me.
