HBO's upcoming live-action adaptation of The Last Of Us is deep into production right now.

The show is currently filming in Calgary, the Canadian city standing in for a post-apocalyptic world plagued by bloodthirsty monsters and humans who have long abandoned all humanity. Naturally, this means we're starting to see a quite a bit of the show - and its stars - in action.

At the time of writing, there's only been one official tease of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey together as Joel and Ellie so far, and it certainly didn't give much away. The duo are stood with their backs to the camera as they look to the horizon. Very exciting - but not terribly informative.

Thankfully, leaked set videos are giving us a much better look at what we can expect from the series, with one piece of recently shared footage giving us our best look yet at Joel and Ellie - as well as two other very familiar characters.

As you can see in the video below, Joel and Ellie are joined by none other than Sam and Henry! The brothers played a substantial - and heartbreaking - role in the 2013 game after teaming up with Joel, and we'd assume they'll have a similarly tragic trajectory in the HBO series.

We still don't have an exact release date for The Last Of Us, but we do know not to expect it this year. In a recent interview with Deadline, HBO Max's chief content officer Casey Bloys said that the series probably won't air until at least 2023.

"It's not going to air in 2022 - they are still shooting in Canada. I imagine you will see it in '23," he said. "I have seen some early episodes and I'm very excited. [...] Craig [Mazin] did Chernobyl for us, he is a fantastic writer and director. What I've seen looks amazing, so I'm excited for it, but it will not be in '22."

The first series of The Last Of Us is expected to follow the events of the original 2013 game, although Naughty Dog and HBO have teased that there will be one or two major deviations from the source material to keep fans on their toes.
