Konami, one of the big game companies we all expect to see at major events, will not be attending E3 this year. Although E3 is the biggest event in gaming's calendar, Konami has decided that it will not be showing anything at this year's event. But it isn't all doom and gloom, the post that the company put out adds that it might not be too long before we see some exciting news.

On Twitter, Konami posted a message saying, "Due to timing we will not be ready to present at E3 this year. We want to reassure our fans that we are in deep development on a number of key projects, so please stay tuned for some updates in the coming months." Now that sounds promising. There have been rumours swirling of two major projects that fans have been begging for. One is another Silent Hill game after the promising Silent Hills was cancelled years ago. The second is a remake of Metal Gear Solid titles.

The most we've seen from Silent Hill in a long time is the appearance of its most beloved villain in Dead by Daylight. Have a look below:

There are rumours upon rumours of Silent Hill finally getting a follow-up game. Silent Hills was incredibly hyped because of the demo, PT which has gone on to be one of the most widely respected horror experiences in games. Metal Gear Solid also needs some love and attention but from rumours, it seems like the old games are getting remade or remastered for next-gen consoles. Neither will be announced at E3 now, due to Konami's absence, but these are the projects that fans are hoping to hear about in the coming months.

The announcement from Konami goes on to reassure people that this wasn't a slight against the ESA. The team is simply not prepared for this year, it's not a sign that it's giving E3 up forever. "While we are not participating this year, we have great respect for the ESA and know that 2021 will be a great success. We will continue to support the ESA and wish the best to all participants at this year's show."

Although we're not going to be seeing Konami at E3, we're expecting many of the usual names to appear from EA to Ubisoft, from Xbox to PlayStation and beyond. It'll be a busy time of year so make sure you're prepared for June 12 -15 for all that gaming news.
