Live-Action 'Rick & Morty' Teased With Christopher Lloyd

And Jaeden Martell as Morty looks pretty good too

The creators of Rick and Morty are up to something and fans are already delighted with the results as the hit animated show seems to be dipping its toes into reality. Adult Swim and the Rick and Morty Twitter account posted a short but sweet clip showing off two exciting guests ahead of the show's season finale, including the original inspiration for Rick, Christopher Lloyd.

If you've watched Rick and Morty you might have had a moment where you realise that the show is a little bit like a more absurd version of Back to the Future, and that's sort of the point. Rick in particular is based on Doc from the time-travelling films, albeit Rick's personality is far more based around the concept of drinking. So Adult Swim, of course, thought that the best person to cast in the role of Rick with this video was the one and only Christopher Lloyd.

Here's Christopher Lloyd and Jaeden Martell in action...

That's right, they actually got Christopher Lloyd involved for the shoot. Sadly it might be obvious that Marty's actor Michael J. Fox is a little old for the role of Morty now but that's gone to another big Hollywood name Jaeden Martell. You may recognise Martell from IT or Knives Out.

The tweet doesn't give us any easy hint about what the clip could mean for the episode, it just says: "C-132". What are we supposed to do with that?

The video seems to be promotion for the last episode of season 5 which will be an hour in length. Inevitably it'll be something that Rick does that will send them into an alternative universe where people look really real. At least that's what The Simpsons did once.

Whatever the cause of this cross-over, fans are stoked to have this teaser at least to enjoy as they celebrate Christopher Lloyd finally being recognised as the blueprint for Rick in the show.
