Vin Diesel Wants To Do A Fast And Furious Musical

Thank you for the music.

Vin Diesel is the face of one of the most successful franchises in the world - no, not Ark. However, there's one frontier that Fast And Furious hasn't braved, and Diesel wants in. What about a musical?

"I'm dying to do a musical, I would," said the actor when prompted on the possibility on The Kelly Clarkson Show. In his teens, Diesel was featured in an instructional video on breakdancing, and he released two singles in 2020 - 'Feel Like I Do' and 'Days Are Gone'. So, he's got the chops for it if Dom Toretto was to be the star of this musical version of the action series.

Furthermore, there are two spinoff movies in the works for Fast And Furious. One of these is a sequel to Fast And Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and the other will centre on the female characters of the Toretto crew. If a musical is on the cards, it's likely to be a third spinoff as Diesel has confirmed that the sun is setting on the franchise. Whether it would also incorporate the crossover with Jurassic World is unknown, but wouldn't that be one heck of a punt? Singing, dancing, dinosaurs.

Ryuji Urabe, an ex-taxi driver from Tokyo, adores playing Forza after his grandson set up the simulator and wheel for him to have a go at gaming. Heartwarmingly, gamers all over the globe have applauded the 93-year-old for his undeniable skills. Check out his story below.

"Well, I've never said never to anything," said Fast And Furious 9 director Justin Lin on the entertaining idea of a mashup movie with Jurassic World. "And the fact that part of our philosophy is not to ever be boxed-in or labeled. And that's all I will say."

So, there are two options for a Fast And Furious musical. The first is that new songs are written and composed for the movie, à la In The Heights, Shrek The Musical, the list goes on. The second is that it uses songs from other artists to supplement the story, like Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. As such, here is my proposed song listing for a musical version of Fast And Furious:

  • 'Fast Car' - Tracy Chapman (this is an obvious shoo-in)
  • 'Gas Gas Gas' - Manuel (I like this song so it's going in)
  • 'I'm in Love With My Car' - Queen (self-explanatory)
  • 'Shut Up And Drive' - Rihanna (if you don't like this song, you're lying)
  • 'Speed Demon' - Michael Jackson (again, I don't feel like I need to explain this)

That's as far as I've gotten. And you can have those for free, Mr Diesel.
