New ‘Black Ops Cold War’ Mode Leaked - Let’s Say Hi To 'Dropkick'

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has been out a little while now and one of the major complaints that fans have been echoing is it feels like it has a little less content than they'd like. Fewer guns and fewer maps have made people a little antsy, but Treyarch has a solution - how about a new game mode.

Charlie Intel has reported that a new mode is coming to the game, as discovered through a leak of in-game loading screens. The picture show some of the details of how the new mode will work, but beyond that we have annoyingly little to go on right now.

The first screen that has been leaked says, "If you die while your team is holding the objective in Dropkick, you will not respawn until the carrier is eliminated." This sounds like a king of the hill-style mode maybe. Whatever team holds a carrier the longest, wins?

The other screen says, "Gain access to launch codes while holding the objective in Dropkick to deploy a powerful nuke and declare victory." This could either be the main objective of the mode or a secondary win clause. Two teams trying to hold an objective the longest, but perhaps there are launch codes around the map that could also win you the rounds if you collect enough of them.

At least we know this mode sounds like it's about teamwork and cooperation. Go in alone and die and it sounds like you're out of the game until the rest of your team succeed in eliminating the carrier. If you're a lone wolf type of player, it's likely this mode won't be to your liking.

All we have other than these details is speculation at the moment. We'll have to wait until Treyarch and/or publishers Activision give us the final details for these screens to make sense. We've made our guesses on what these messages could mean - but what are yours?
