RoboCop Has Been Confirmed For ‘Mortal Kombat 11’ In New DLC

"Dead or alive - probably dead, TBH - you're coming with me."

Imagine, if you will, you're a marauding warlord from an alternate dimension, hellbent on conquering Earthrealm in order to enslave its population and satiate your bottomless appetite for destruction. The last thing you'd want to see standing in your way? A 6'2" cybernetic police officer with a penchant for justice and its enforcement. A veritable unit of a rozzer. RoboCop.

Yes, the world's most iconic chrome dome RoboCop has been confirmed as part of the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath DLC pack, where he'll be squaring off against some of the biggest and baddest in the MK universe.

Bookending NetherRealm Studios' recent run of '80s action stars and villains, RoboCop will join the likes of The Terminator, Predator and Jason Voorhees in the growing lineup. A press release from Warner Bros to mark the announcement describes him as a "highly advanced, cybernetic police officer", so you can bet your life he'll make full use of his huge technological arsenal.

In fact, RoboCop will be packing weapons like his Beretta 93R pistol, a flamethrower, riot shield and shoulder cannon to stem the tide of scum waiting to wash over him and the other Earthrealm protectors.

Fans may notice that NetherRealm Studios' version of RoboCop bears the likeness (and voice) of Peter Weller, who originally portrayed the character in the original 1987 RoboCop movie, as well as the 1990 follow up, RoboCop 2.

RoboCop will be arriving with the release of a series-first story DLC for Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath expands on the ending of the base game's story, and picks up where it left off. The blurb reads: "Fire God Liu Kang, the new keeper of time and protector of Earthrealm, must now enlist the help of unlikely allies and familiar foes to forge a new history as the fate of two worlds hang in the balance."

On top of that, Aftermath will bring old favourite characters Sheeva and Fujin (alongside RoboCop), new (old) arenas Dead Pool and Soul Chamber, fan-favourite Stage Fatalities, as well as Friendships - the best way to show your opponent that you have a heart, and not just one that can be ripped out of your chest and punched through your face.

Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath will release on May 26th for Xbox One, PS4, Windows PC, Nintendo Switch and Stadia - though you'll not be able to pre-order on Stadia. If you already own MK11, you can pick up Aftermath separately, or get them both in the Aftermath + Kombat bundle.
