Games are pretty popular now, wouldn't you say? Though video games have been a big market for quite a while, other pop culture creators are now investing time into getting into games. Where before, gamers and game stories were seen as nerdy and weird (think of South Park's basement-dwelling gamer), we're moving away from that stereotype to the point that big directors, actors, and writers in film and TV want a piece of gaming action. And according to this wild ride of a Reddit post, Tom Cruise wants in too.

Starfield is Bethesda's upcoming space adventure game. After its announcement back in 2018, there has been very little official information on the title since - though recently Jeff Grubb 'confirmed' that the game will be on Xbox and PC only. Over the past couple of years, many leaks have come out, all claiming to be legitimate parts of the game and the latest rumours are now claiming that actor Tom Cruise is involved in development.

Here's the original E3 Starfield announcement just to refresh your memory...

On the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, one user has posted a vast number of screenshots to convince audiences that Tom Cruise is involved in the game, among other rumours. Wooshthem apparently knows more than one individual that can confirm and these individuals have allegedly known about leaks before they were public, thereby fortifying their claims that Tom Cruise is part of Starfield.

A quick rundown of the evidence shows that these leakers confirm three times that Tom Cruise is going to be in the project. Outside of just Discord conversations, these users also point to a tweet from Bethesda asking Tom to be involved in an upcoming project years ago. That tweet is still up, and does say that Bethesda wants Tom Cruise in on its "next thing".

Additionally, in 2020 many outlets reported that Tom Cruise was planning to shoot a movie in space with Elon Musk's SpaceX project. At the time, there were no confirmations of what this movie would be outside of just a space-based project - the leakers claim that this film is connected to Starfield's production.

And you know what? Normally I have to always remind people that leaks and rumours aren't confirmation that projects are really happening, but with this story... it's so funny and weird I want it to be true too. So of course, take everything with a pinch of salt, but also, Tom Cruise, go give Bethesda a call if you haven't already. We're sure they'd love you to get some stunts in.
